The Joe Cooper Story
We are a third generation automotive group started by my grandfather, Claude Cooper, who was widely known as the best mechanic in Canadian County. His first franchise was the Oldsmobile dealership in Yukon, which he purchased from the local funeral director who, interestingly enough, performed funerals and sold cars in the same building. True story.
My father, Jackie Cooper, took over the Oldsmobile dealership after my grandfather suffered heat stroke while working on a customer's car in the hot Oklahoma sun. When my father was later approved, at the age of 21, to be the Oldsmobile dealer in Yukon, he became the youngest new car dealer ever recognized by a major automotive company.
Our family has been in the automobile business since 1946. Like anyone else, we make mistakes; but when we do, we always make it right for our customer. The good examples set by my grandfather and father instilled in the Cooper family the basic principles we always follow: honesty, valuing relationships, earning and keeping the trust of our customers.
We believe that by taking care of our employees, they will in turn take care of our customers. With over 500 Oklahomans working with us, each member plays a crucial role in our success. It is not uncommon to find employees who have been part of our automotive group for generations, which speaks to the quality of the workplace we have created. When you visit us, you will experience a warm and welcoming environment. Our facilities are meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and comfortable experience.
